Outstanding Ambassadors of Teams Honoring Sportsmanship (OATHS) Award Winner - U18 Girls C1 LaDuke Team |
|
Congratulations to the U18 Girls C1 team coached by Tim LaDuke for winning the OATHS award for the second year in a row. OATHS is an award given by MYSA for sportsmanship by the team, coaches and parents.
At each game all referees are asked to complete the evaluation of each team’s players, coaches and fans. Referees are asked if the players are playing within the rules and spirit of the game. Coaches will be evaluated to make sure all players and officials are treated with respect. And fans are expected to support all players, coaches, and referees in a positive manner. Responses are tabulated and the data analyzed to determine our OATHS winners. The results of the tabulations are used to evaluate overall sportsmanship throughout the state of Minnesota. |

Parents and Coaches Together (PACT) |
|
Consistent with our Mission Statement, MapleBrook's Board of Directors and staff are committed to programs that focus on providing a positive soccer environment for all players, parents, coaches, team managers, officials, and fans.
Motivated by this commitment, MapleBrook is partnering with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) to provide a research-based, educational program called Parents and Coaches Together (PACT). Co-developed by the University of Notre Dame and MYSA, PACT is designed to help coaches and parents create a positive environment for everyone involved that builds character and thus creates "champions" on and off the field. In 2009, our coaches and team managers became "PACT certified" prior to the beginning of the season. As a result, we have made exceptional strides towards having a positive impact on our youth. Now, we would like all MapleBrook parents to also benefit from this excellent program. In 2010, MapleBrook set and achieved its goal of at least one parent of every player involved in our programs to attend a PACT seminar prior to summer soccer season. Because of the importance of this initiative, MapleBrook will continue to ask one parent of each new player to the club to attend a PACT seminar. MapleBrook will begin to offer seminars beginning in November 2010 through February 2011 at a variety of times and locations. Once certified, player passes will be issued for participation in the 2011 season. Watch for more information on seminar dates and times on our website and through email communication. For additional information on PACT, and how the program benefits players on and off the field, please click HERE.
