Uniform Committee Volunteers Needed |
|
MapleBrook's Uniform Committee is in need of four individuals who are willing to volunteer their time to research a club uniform kit for the 2012 season. Although this is a two-year commitment, it is not labor intensive. The volunteers can expect to participate in 3-4 meetings over the next year, with the first meeting this spring. This volunteer position would fulfill your volunteer requirements for the year(s) that you serve.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluation and selection of a uniform vendor and club uniform package for 2012.
- Develop and recommend a jersey numbering system to the Board of Directors.
- Initiate discussions with teams and friends to gain insight about uniform needs.
Suggested age groups include: U9/U10, U11/U12, U13/U14, and U15/U16
Please contact Mary Ellingsen at mellingsen@maplebrooksoccer.com. |

Parents and Coaches Together (PACT) |
|
Consistent with our Mission Statement, MapleBrook's Board of Directors and staff are committed to programs that focus on providing a positive soccer environment for all players, parents, coaches, team managers, officials, and fans.
Motivated by this commitment, MapleBrook is partnering with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) to provide a research-based, educational program called Parents and Coaches Together (PACT). Co-developed by the University of Notre Dame and MYSA, PACT is designed to help coaches and parents create a positive environment for everyone involved that builds character and thus creates "champions" on and off the field. Last year, our coaches and team managers became "PACT certified" prior to the beginning of the season. As a result, we have made exceptional strides towards having a positive impact on our youth. Now, we would like all MapleBrook parents to also benefit from this excellent program. MapleBrook has set as a goal to require at least one parent of every player involved in our programs to attend a PACT seminar prior to April 1, 2010. Because of the importance of this initiative, MapleBrook will offer seminars beginning in November 2009 at a variety of times and locations. Once certified, player passes will be issued for participation in the 2010 season. Watch for more information on seminar dates and times on our website and through email communication. For additional information on PACT, and how the program benefits players on and off the field, please click HERE.

No PACT, No Play |
|
At least one parent must attend a PACT seminar before April 1st in order for the player pass to be released to the team. A player pass is required to play all games. No PACT, No Play.
For information on upcoming PACT seminars dates and locations, go to MYSA's website, http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/pac/workshops.cfm. |
