Tryout Policy
We expect that all players register and attend all days of tryouts to earn a spot on a team. Tryouts allow our coaches to identify and select players into teams, giving the club the best opportunity to compete at each level. For players, old or new, tryouts are meant for them to justify their playing level within the age group. Children grow and develop at different rates, so we feel that it’s essential to reevaluate the age group each year. That will provide all our players equal opportunities to improve their development. Players will have the opportunity to play up to a higher level during the year if their performance warrants it.
New players who do not attend all days run the risk of being placed on the lowest team, as we will have limited information on your skills and fit within our program. If a returning player is unable to attend all days, their coach will make the placement decision based on past performance and team needs, with permission from MPB Staff.
Any player with an open balance on their account (club fees or team fees) will not be able to try out for the next season until payment has been made in full or a payment plan has been approved by the Board of Directors or its delegate.
